Crested Butte is where the ski area and the base area are with ski shops, restaurants, and condos. Crested Butte South is located 7 miles south of town and is known for its single-family homes, family-friendly atmosphere and growing commercial district. There are many other areas close to town that offer stunning opportunities to own mountain retreats and acreage. The City of Gunnison is home to Western State Colorado University, Gunnison Valley Hospital and the Gunnison Crested Butte Regional Airport.
